2024 October #4: Friedenau
On Oct 6 we moved to Friedenau. It’s quite different than Friedrichshain: more upscale, a bit more suburban.
It’s the blue dot in the lower left in the cover photo.
Here’s the Platz a block away:
We are in a Dachwohnung, an apartment carved out of the attic, in a nice 1904 building. It’s the 4th floor (they start at 0 so think 5th), with no elevator:

Lula is a cafe and bakery on the Platz with great bread, pastries & coffee:
The closest S-Bahn station, Friedenau, is a 7-8 minute walk away. It’s on a little Platz itself, with a very picturesque cafe, but a couple things keep us from going more: it’s one of the few places we’ve seen that still (explicitly) allows smoking. I guess if you have signs that you allow it, it’s legal - buyer beware…:
