65: time to hit the road

Planned to go Sunday & return Saturday, but storms kept us from leaving ‘til Monday.

Camp Roblandia prep by Robert Anderson & Devon (including the golden colossus):

The Sunday wind storm - 60 mph. Our lux tent was shredded, but (of course) RBA had a spare:

Monday 8 hours from dirt to gate, racing the oncoming storm; arrived 2am, slept in the car:

Tuesday we got out a bit in the gathering rain storm:

…big rain late afternoon/evening, slept in Tortuga. Lots of water, lots of mud:

Wednesday mostly camp-bound ‘til sunset:

By Thursday the ground had solidified; out to the playa for sunrise:
